“Yadkin County Board of Commissioners after action Report for August 7, 2023”
During the August 7, 2023 Board meeting, the Yadkin County Board of Commissioners took the following action:
- Approved a resolution in support of myFutureNC that 2 million North Carolinians and 4,545 residents of Yadkin County should have a high-quality credential or postsecondary degree by 2030.
- Approved 5-year contract with Axon Enterprise, Inc. to provide tasers, related equipment, and training to the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office.
- Approved a budget amendment appropriating funds for the purchase of vehicles by the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office.
- Approved a budget amendment appropriating funds for overtime payment for employees in the Sheriff’s Office.
- Approved a budget amendment to carry forward unspent funds for Human Services child health (dental) and donations received by the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office.
- Approved the payment of prior year invoices from the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office.
- Approved a change to Truist for procurement card services.
- Approved a contract with EMS Management and Consultants for EMS Billing.
- Approved a grant funding agreement with Yadkin County Economic Development Partnership for fiscal year 2024
- Approved revisions to the Yadkin County Personnel Policy
During her Manager’s report, Lisa Hughes updated the Board on Golden LEAF Foundation grant initiatives that will be recommended by the County in support of Yadkin County Schools with a focus on job preparedness and the Yadkin County Economic Development Partnership with a focus on the Flex Plex child care initiative. She also updated the Board on proposed legislation that could impact the Legacy Medical Care Facility status of the hospital facility. She also informed the Board that the Yadkin County Gray Eagles flag ceremony has been scheduled for September 9, 2023.
