Yadkin County Animal Shelter

About Us

The Yadkin County Animal Shelter was first opened in 2005. We have both cats and dogs that have become separated from their owners. Our principal priority is to try and locate the animal's owner and reunite them with their family. If we are unable to locate an owner, we work on placing these animals in homes through adoption or our work with rescue groups. We work closely with the Yadkin County Sheriff's Office Animal Control Division, including rabies response.

Our Facility includes:

• 21 dog kennels
• 3 outside dog kennels
• 21 cat kennels
• An isolation/quarantine room that can house up to 20 additional cats
• An adoptable cat room called the "Catty Shack", which can house 12 cats

Our Mission

At the Yadkin County Animal Shelter, we are dedicated to the health and well-being of every dog and cat entrusted to our care. Our mission is to provide compassionate care, facilitate successful adoptions, and connect animals with loving families. We work to find permanent homes for our animals through direct adoption and partnerships with rescue organizations. In addition to adoption services, we support the community through education, resources, and outreach programs that promote responsible pet ownership. By working together, we can create a more compassionate community where every animal has the opportunity to thrive.

Adoptions

View a list of adoptable pets. The shelter is located at 1027 Speaks Street, in Yadkinville, NC, and is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Emergency Contact Information

Emergencies are covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For after-hour emergencies, please contact the Sheriff’s Department at 336-849-7810.
