Adoption

Think About Adopting Before You Go Shopping!

According to the Humane Society of the US, approximately 25-30% of shelter animals are purebreds. If you have a breed that you prefer, check out the breed-specific rescue groups also. Contact the shelter and let them know what you are looking for.adopt me poster

Adoption at Yadkin County Animal Shelter

Thank you for choosing us to find your new furry best friend. Before proceeding with adoption please make sure you know what you are getting into. Ensure that you will give a pet a happy and comfortable home where they will live healthily. You must be at least 18 years old to adopt.

Adoption Process

Step 1: Take a look at our adoptable pets and look for one that you think would fit you. Consider a backup option just in case it doesn’t work out.

Step 2: Schedule an appointment to come see that cat or dog. You can call us at (336)-849-7901 ext.02 to schedule an appointment. While appointments are not required, they are highly appreciated.

Step 3: Visit us and meet the animal that you want to adopt. Bring a valid form of ID and payment if you decide to take that dog or cat home. You must be 18 or older.
